The idea of RVTEC was first proposed on the OMNET/SCIENCENET electronic conferencing system in 1992. A planning meeting was held in Washington DC in the summer of 1992, followed by an inaugural meeting in Washington in October 1992.
Sites of the annual meetings of RVTEC:
A charter was drafted at the 1992 inaugural meeting and approved by the UNOLS council later that year as Annex V to the UNOLS charter.
The officers of RVTEC are Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson are elected in alternate years for a two year term. Term begins at adjournement of the fall annual meeting at which the person is elected and lasts until adjournement of the meeting two years later at which a successor is elected. Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson are limited to serving two terms consecutively.
The RVTEC Logo was designed by Thomas C.
Wilson, Jr.and officially adopted at the 1997 annual meeting.
The graphics are in ZIP format - for some reason if they are left as WMF files Netscape tries to display them as opposed to saving them to disk and chokes. Once downloaded, they can be unzipped and imported directly into Microsoft Word. Since they are vector graphics, they can be scaled up or down as desired with no loss of resolution.
